Yes, we offer HICAPS on the spot claiming so you pay the gap amount only. Remedial Massage and Acupuncture are covered by most health funds under their extras cover. Most funds no longer cover Naturopathy although some cover it under health packages. The rebate varies for each health fund. The best way to check what you will get back is to contact your health fund.

Our Naturopaths are trained and experienced in working with complex cases where multiple medications may have been prescribed by your doctor or medical specialist. Our Naturopaths will ensure that any natural therapy recommended will be safe when used with your medications. We have access to a detailed and up to date database of drug actions, side effects and potential interactions with herbs or nutrients.

Many medications have side effects and can cause depletion of essential vitamins and minerals. Our practitioners can also help you counteract side effects of medications if the medication is essential to take. Seek our professional help when considering natural medicines rather than self prescribing to avoid any potential herb/drug interactions.

The senior practitioners at Malvern Natural Health Care have have expertise with many complex conditions so in nearly all cases we will be able to help. If your condition is very rare we are happy to do some research or work together with your medical specialist.

Alternatively you can access your appointment through the client portal. We can reschedule your appointment to accommodate your diary provided we have enough notice.

Missed appointments or late cancellations deprive others of treatment and are stressful for our practitioners as they have allocated specific time for you and in many cases will have also prepared in advance for your case. A cancellation fee of 50% the service fee applies in these cases.

Bowen Therapy is is a gentle rolling motion over your muscles, often laterally and going on the grain of the connective tissue rather than the muscle. It resets the muscle fascia (the thin covering over the muscle) Bowen can be performed over clothing and does not generally involve the use of oil. Bowen is great for when your body is out of alignment and needs ‘resetting’. It manoeuvres the fascia and allows the body to settle back into its correct posture and find its harmony; internally and muscularly.

Remedial Massage encompasses an abundance of techniques. Basically it is used to achieve muscular correction, freedom of movement and deep tissue regeneration. At the same time it often significantly lessens stress and helps you to relax. Massage gets deep inside the belly of the muscle to dissipate muscle knots and flows with the muscular or lymphatic structure of your body, rather than the connective tissue. It is effective in treating muscular spams, trigger points, frozen muscles, relieving muscular pain and creating mobility in joints.

Remedial Massage can also be combined with other massage techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy and stretching. Your Remedial massage therapist at Malvern Natural Health Care can also incorporate relaxation techniques and aromatherapy to suit your personal needs

Both are suitable and effective services for lymphatic drainage.

Bowen Therapy is a non invasive method that does not require undressing or the use of oil. It can also address pain and is more of a whole body treatment, encouraging natural lymphatic flow.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage involves very gentle massage with the use of massage oil in the direction of lymph nodes. I is not generally used to treat pain or muscular tension.

The Oxy Chi Machine offers an excellent alternative option for Lymphatic Drainage which involves lying down on a yoga mat, relaxing while the machine gently creates a fish like movement throughout your body which stimulates lymph, while also relaxing muscles, joints and spine. It can also be used to enhance Bowen or Manual Lymphatic Drainage sessions.
